Medgidia is a municipality from Constanta County, situated in the South East part of Romania, in Dobrogea region, in the center of South Dobrogea Plateau, at less than 50 km from the Black Sea. It has over 5.000 years of documented existence and a high potential in respect to archeological sites.

Economic activity is characterized by massive influence agriculture, mainly high culture, also by the field trees – vineyard Medgidia spread over an area of 3.000 ha. The industry is active only in Medgidia and is represented by cement factory and some light industry enterprises of small capacity. Processing of agricultural products is still present in Medgidia through a wheat flour factory, a candy factory and a winery complex.

According to the 2011 Census, the structure of the total of 39.780 inhabitants that constitutes the population of Medgidia municipality is structured as follows: 71. 48% Romanians, 8. 4% Turks, 8. 07% Tatars and 1. 52% Roma.
 

The ROMACT Process

ROMACT process started on November 2015. The local action plan was adopted by the Local Council on the 21st of July 2016. The Community Action Group (CAG) identified some of the short/medium/long-term needs and measures:
